Piano Progress
Well, that's me done 12 lessons now!
I have to say I don't practise enough. At least that's my excuse. Doing good progress, managing now to play a few semi-decent 'tunes' (as opposed to 'noise'). Its very tricky - I find the coordination required makes being able to tap your head while rubbing your tummy seem simple.
[aside: try this at home: cross your fingers while using your mouse ... ]
Anyway, getting there. I've been steadily and religiously working my way through the books, and have been battering away at the extremely recommended Hanon Virtuoso Piano exercises -- they're fan-fingering-tastic!! (six down, 54 to go..). Paul (my excellent PianoForte teacher) is very patient, and has now started me on Sight-Reading exercises which are tough (i'd grade as v.diff). Great stuff though. I think I'm improving. We'll see.. The rest of the family are extremely glad that my piano has headphone sockets though... I wonder why that is? ...

Yorkshire Break - August 2004
Was down in Yorkshire - amongst other things, went on trip to Scarborough on the Flying Scotsman, did some things on a fast boat , went down a cavern and mine, visited the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, and had fun in another fantastic Maize Maze near Cawthorne, Barnsley
