Monty Python Holy Grail Castle
Last weekend turned out to be a surprisingly good one.
Saturday, we were at the TRON theatre tos see Blind Summit's childrens theatre performance"Spaceman". Kids really enjoyed it.
Found one of those 'eat as much as you want' for £6.50 chinese restaurant places in Albion Street (Dings?). Very good if you're hungry!
Sunday (after the 1 hour-earlier swimming), we decided to head for Linlithgow Palace, but (despite what the Historic Scotland guide said) it was shut on Sunday morning! Never mind - change in plan - northward via Tillicoultry shops - and arrived at a *new* castle for us - Doune Castle. Very well preserved - and I've never been in a castle with so many nooks and crannies. Surprise was that the castle was where the classic Monty Python film 'Holy Grail' was filmed there! The curator (George has a site) HolyGrailCastle.com, and has a very montypython-esque odd tradition of having people get their photos holding coconut shells!! Very odd! Good on you! Very refreshing from the usual stuffy persona that greet you at these kind of places!

Happy Birthday Starsky
Paul Michael Glaser's birthday today. Went to see the nostalgic Starsky and Hutch film at the weekend. Quite amusing. Hope the unfortunate original actors got a good fee for their cameo role - as apparently they get zero from the rights of the original S&H series.

Honey, I'm back!
I know ... it's embarrassing. I've said this many times. Broken new year resolution and all that. So - to address the many hundreds of complaints received - I aim to remedy this.
Not posting is definitely a symptom of being far too busy getting on with eg. re-building the bathroom to post things to this "blog". Mind you, I'm not really convinced that this "blogging" is productive really. Maybe its just the theraputic value of emptying your mind of things onto a published work that does it - a kind of public 'Dear Diary' thing, I 'spose.... Oh well, never mind, what the heck.
